It’s so important to create your own restful retreat in your bedroom, as this IS often your only place of sanctuary when the rest of the house is too chaotic and you just need a bit of ‘time out’ to gather your thoughts before you face the day. And isn’t a good night’s sleep so important in a busy life!
Styling your bedroom really matters. There is nothing worse than worrying about how your bedroom looks before you can even shut your eyes.
Blue Isle has created bedroom furniture in calm tones of grey-white, in solid oak, to help you on your way to a stylish room. Opt for a graceful King Size four poster in oak and linen for a more classic style, with straight , turned legs. This can be paired with any of our oak side tables, but if you are lucky enough to have a wider space at the bedside, it goes really well with the ‘weathered oak side table with shelf’. This is such a versatile piece: it has one drawer, and an open section for books and magazines, or some of our customers have added baskets to store any number of bedroom items such as shoes or clothes.

If you have less space, but want to opt for the classic table with straight legs, then Melbury with three drawers is very good at storage. And we we will soon be adding another three-drawer weathered oak chest to this range which is wider than Melbury, so this will give you all the versatility you need depending on the size of your room.
‘Melbury’ is 60cm wide. The Weathered Oak table with open shelf, is 96cm wide.
If you want to opt for the full-out French Bedroom look, then why not. We love the French style, which endures in popularity for bedrooms, but our bed is a little more ‘pared-down French’ than some. It has curved legs and some carving, but isn’t over the top! It is in the same calm grey -white oak as the four poster, with plain padded head and footboards, and with a very strong oak top to both ,to prevent wear to the padded linen. It can be teamed with our classic French style weathered oak table, or even for a bit of fun, a solid oak side table which we have called ‘Pom Pom’ because its curved shape just makes us smile. It has two very spacious drawers too. And , as with all our pieces – all the backs, and drawers, are of matching solid wood. The French style bed comes in double and king size. If you are really short of space at each side of the bed, we have developed a very small oak table called ‘Belle’ which manages a drawer and a shelf in its narrow width, so its very useful.
We hope this gives you some bedroom styling ideas. What we like best about weathered oak is that it blends so well with many other styles and finishes, so you can mix and match, and don’t have to be rigid when styling.
